SYLA is the jewelry end of my business. I’m a graphic designer by day, photographer after 5:00pm, and jewelry maker at night. I tend to stay pretty busy. I love it though! I’ve always been artsy/crafty, so being in my late 20′s and doing what I loved as a kid is pretty freakin’ awesome!
So what is SYLA? It’s my memory of my dad. It’s in honor of my dad. It’s how I continue to remember my dad…who passed away in 2001. SYLA stands for a famous phrase my dad said to me nearly every time I left the house…See Ya Later Alligator. My dad was the type that never missed the opportunity to say “See ya later alligator. Love you! Make all A’s.” This is such a huge memory for my family that those 4 words are etched are his headstone. He always encouraged me in all my artistic endeavors! This is my way of honoring him and saying “thank you.”

• I have four 4-legged kids…my kiddos, whom I blog about here and there
• I’m addicted to Sprite
• I work 8-5 for a cookie dough company…I design the brochures
• I am NOT, by any means, a morning person
• Gummy peaches are my favorite candy, but I don’t like to have them all the time…takes away the specialness
• I love the mountains. My hubby and I honeymooned in a cabin in Ashford, WA. I had to do research to find that booger!
• I have an addiction with french fries. I could eat them all the time…even at fancy restaurants…and sometimes do.
• I’ve never colored my hair. I have this fear that my hair will become fried and break off…so I refuse…plus it saves me money!
• I love learning about the Holocaust. Horrible event, unbelievably strong people…great testament of their faith!
• I probably over decorate with the Fleur de Lis. It’s classic. I’m trying to limit myself.
• I don’t wear lipstick, but love chapstick!
• I never really liked the color lime green, but now have my office painted a slightly lighter shade of it and have chosen it as the main color for SYLA.
• I have a yellow bathroom…not the walls, but the countertop and shower. I LOATHE it.
• We bought a house in August and have painted almost every room in it…my bathroom is on the remodel list.
• If it didn’t make me look like a bum, I would wear jeans and a t-shirt EVERY day.
• If all I ever got to shoot were senior portraits, I’d be pretty content.
